Hopped into a taxi today and honestly?
The ride turned into a masterclass.
This uncle, the driver…
He starts sharing.
And I'm just listening, completely drawn in.
He told me he failed his O-levels.
Not once.
Not twice.
But THREE times.
You'd think, okay, maybe that's the story, right?
Wrong.
His son?
Currently one of the top law students at SMU.
How?
The uncle said, “I focused on two things in my life: my son, and my health.”
He instilled a reading habit in his boy from young.
And he'll bring his boy to ‘Popular' bookstore to buy 4 new books almost EVERY week.
This wasn't about academic brilliance passed down.
This was about dedication.
About foresight.
About knowing what truly matters and pouring your soul into it.
It really made me reflect on myself as a parent…
Made me think what I've been doing (or not yet doing) for my child.
This man is building a legacy.
He has a powerful lesson that the whole world could learn and benefit from.
This is a lesson I'll never forget.
If only he had the right skills and platform to package his lessons and share it… He would have helped a lot more people besides myself.
